NBDE,The Dental Exam of USA

There are 2 exams to have the licence to practice dentistry in USA.
The exams are NBDE part I and NBDE part II.

The purpose of the part I, part II and dental hygiene examinations is to assist state boards in determining qualifications of dentints/dental hygienists who seek licensure to practice dentistry/dental hygiene.

These examinations assess the ability to understand important information from basic biomedical and dental/dental hygiene sciences and also the ability to apply such information in a problem-solving contest.
Specific dental and dental hygiene licensure requirements vary among jurisdictions, but all jurisdictions have three basic requirements---
  • an educational requirement,
  • a written examination requirement and,
  • a clinical examination requirement.
You must complete all three for basic licensure requirements.

Prevention from tooth decay

Many people have different concept about the dental decay. some says that it is a communicable disease, some says once a single tooth is affected, the entire mouth is affected with dental caries.

Exactly, the second statement is correct with few limits. once dental decay starts, it affects the entire dentition. we should not forget that dental caries is the infectious disease. We know it starts when an individual limits care for the oral health. so it is increasing day by day.

Many people search medications as a cure of dental decay. they roam around pharmacies. For the sake of money many people give medications for the people who are unknown about the dental health.

One thing i want to make clear for the general people that tooth decay don't have any medications up to today's modern dentistry. once the dental decay starts, it can be cured only by working on the tooth, not by any medications.

Better way is, make a habit of caring your teeth. As we say, Prevention is better than Cure.
